Ellen Russo
Managing Director, Dept. of Professional Practice
Ellen is a managing director in the KPMG Department of Professional Practice (DPP) with over 35 years of experience serving engagement teams, providing technical research and content management guidance, and providing financial statement audit services. In her role, Ellen assists with interpreting and implementing the Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) rules and drafting the firm’s technical publications on various SEC topics. She also participates in webcasts and presentations on SEC financial reporting matters. Additionally, Ellen plays an integral role on the non-compliance with laws and regulations (NOCLAR) topic team, including developing and executing the firm’s NOCLAR policies and training programs.
Prior to joining DPP, Ellen served as an Audit senior manager in the KPMG San Francisco office serving clients primarily in the consumer products and life sciences industries. Her audit experience includes serving both global and development-stage companies as well as a range of SEC debt and equity offerings including IPOs.
Ellen holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from the University of Vermont and is a licensed public accountant in Massachusetts and Connecticut.
