Gianluca Pitetti
Managing Director, Tax
Luca Pitetti is a retired KPMG Partner and currently a Managing Director in the KPMG Washington National Tax (WNT) – State and Local Tax (SALT) practice, based in the firm’s Columbus, Ohio office. He is a nationally recognized SALT practitioner with more than 30 years of public accounting and industry experience. Luca leads the WNT SALT Controversy practice and has held numerous leadership roles throughout his KPMG career. He also serves as the Indiana adjusted gross income tax professional as part of the KPMG State Tax Resource Network.
Luca has deep technical and strategic experience advising companies on complex multistate tax matters, mergers and acquisitions, audit defense, and controversy resolutions. He previously served as State Tax Counsel at a Fortune 10 company, where he oversaw income and franchise tax audits and appeals and successfully represented the company before multiple state tax departments including California, Colorado, Illinois, Louisiana, North Carolina, Ohio, Tennessee, and Texas.
Luca has spoken at leading SALT organizations, including the Council On State Taxation, the ABA Section of Taxation, the Tax Executives Institute, the Taxpayers’ Federation of Illinois, the Chicago Tax Club, the Michigan Tax Conference, the Minnesota Society of CPAs, and the Ohio Tax Conference.
Luca earned a JD from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and a BBA in Accounting from Davenport University.
