Anjali Mukhi

Anjali is a senior manager in KPMG’s Business Tax Services as part of the Accounting Methods and Credits Services (AMCS) tax practice in the Los Angeles office. Anjali has ten years’ experience in providing Research & Development (R&D) tax credit services to public and privately held companies. Anjali’s experience includes assisting clients with credits and incentives including federal and state research tax credits and Section 174 R&E deductions. She consults with clients on numerous tax issues including application of the IRS LB&I ASC 730 R&D Directive; IRS examinations; and various credits and incentive issues.
Anjali assists clients with research credit claims for product development, engineering services, manufacturing process improvements, and software development in a wide range of industries.
Anjali provides tax services to a variety of clients ranging from large SEC companies to privately held companies. She has performed work for clients in various industries ranging from financial services, consumer products, agriculture, architecture and engineering, manufacturing, telecommunications, computer software, food and beverage, medical technology, and pharmaceuticals.
Anjali’s project experience includes the performance of pertinent fieldwork (i.e. compiling costing and contemporaneous documentation, conducting costing interviews, designing deliverables to address IRS concerns, etc.) as well as researching and advising clients of their incentive options and most sustainable positions. Anjali has been involved with tax controversy projects, representing the client’s R&D claims before a panel of IRS engineers and coordinators.
As part of the Research Credit Services group, Anjali has gained significant experience in R&D tax credit consulting for the architecture and engineering industry as well as claiming credits related to the development of internal use software. Anjali’s experience within the A&E industry provides meaningful impact by maximizing companies’ credits within the parameters of the law.
