Elliot McCardle
Senior Manager, Mergers & Acquisitions Tax
Elliot is a senior manager in the KPMG Merger & Acquisitions tax practice. Elliot joined KPMG in 2023 as an experienced hire from EY. Elliot received his LL.M. from University of Houston Law Center. Prior to becoming an attorney, Elliot spent over 20 years in the IT industry as a software architect building enterprise systems for various industries through a software company he founded.
At EY, Elliot was client facing for his first three years and focused on assisting both corporate and private equity clients in various stages of the tax due diligence process. Additionally, Elliot has helped with a variety of transactions where tax modeling was required. Elliot’s career shifted from client-facing to an internal role and he began focusing on how to leverage technology to build efficiencies within the M&A tax practice. He has led multiple technology initiatives, both domestically and globally, focusing on standardization and automation. These initiatives have led to gains in efficiency, margin, and revenue.
Elliot received his J.D. from South Texas College of Law in 2013 and his Bachelor of Science in Business from William Carey College in 1997. Prior to becoming an attorney, Elliot spent over 20 years in the IT industry as a software architect. He founded a software company and ran it for 12 years. His company was focused on building enterprise systems with specific focus in automation and security.
