Jonathan serves in the Private Enterprise Tax practice of KPMG. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Jonathan is focused on expansion of our practice in the Southeastern United States, however serves clients across the country.
Jonathan is a trusted business advisor to owners of businesses, C-suite executives and related key stakeholders. With over 17 years of experience, he passionately leads teams serving dynamic privately held businesses, their owners, and their families with tax planning, charitable planning, wealth transfer planning, and succession planning matters. He also serves domestic and international ultra-high net-worth families and their related family offices, advising on individual income/gift/estate tax matters, investment partnerships, and complex trust structures. He has a proven history of teaming with others to grow and develop new and existing client relationships, coordinates client services by leading a regional team in addition to global team resources, and serves as a mentor and career counsellor to others at various levels.
Throughout his career, he has served in leadership roles on national task forces that cover a broad spectrum including client service delivery enhancement and tax technical advisory matters; he has developed and instructed technical training courses for firm executives, clients, and other advisors; has led firm initiatives focused on enhancing and improving the employee experience; and passionately devotes time to recruiting and retaining talent at the firm.
He is a member of the AICPA, an AICPA Personal Financial Planning Executive Committee member, a member of the Georgia Society of CPAs, and a member of the Atlanta Estate Planning Council. He was a nominee for the 2020 Mike Baldasaro Exceptional Client Service Award and was the recipient of the 2016 AICPA Standing Ovation Award. Jonathan is a member of the Raymond J. Harbert College of Business School of Accountancy Advisory Council at Auburn University and a member of the United Way of Greater Atlanta Cole Society. Jonathan and his wife Palmer have two daughters, Kate and Caroline, and have lived in Atlanta for over 17 years. He is an avid fly fisherman, enjoys the outdoors, cooking, and vacationing with his family and friends.
