Sean Marikakis

Sean is a partner in KPMG’s Northeast Commercial audit practice, with more than 20 years of experience providing accounting and auditing services to international and domestic companies, both public and private. He is also the partner in-charge of KPMG’s U.S. life sciences audit practice.

Professional and industry experience

Sean has extensive experience serving large multinational clients, as well as New Jersey based middle market clients, in accordance with PCAOB requirements, U.S. GAAP, and IFRS. His audit experience ranges from SEC filings, Sarbanes-Oxley 404 audits and statutory audits, to participation in large global audit transitions. He has a strong understanding of SEC rules and regulations and has been involved in debt and equity offerings, carve outs, acquisitions and initial public offerings.

Sean’s experience includes:

• Working with revenue recognition rules and interpretations, business combinations, reorganizations/restructurings, collaboration agreements, carve outs and other technical and reporting matters
• Participating in the Quality Performance Review Program and performing In-Depth reviews in support of SEC reviewing partners completing their Engagement Quality Reviews
• Global integrated audits of companies using Oracle and SAP, including during periods that include system upgrades and/or implementations. 
• Audits of complex organizations that leverage centralized shared service centers in various locations
• Signing partner on multiple integrated and FSA audits of public companies
• Acting as a European and South American coordinating partner on large global integrated audits
• Engagement Quality Control & IFRS Reviewing Partner
• Account Executive for several KPMG audit clients
• Life Sciences Audit Sector Leader for the United States
