Keith Hooper

Keith Hooper is an audit partner in the KPMG Department of Professional Practice (DPP), with more than 15 years of experience specializing in complex technical accounting, auditing and SEC reporting matters. Keith supports KPMG in its implementation of emerging technologies – such as transaction scoring and artificial intelligence by providing subject matter expertise in PCAOB auditing standards and their application to advanced technological analyses.
Recently, Keith served a two-year term as a Professional Accounting Fellow in the Office of the Chief Accountant at the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). During his fellowship, Keith led the review of PCAOB standards and drafted regulatory documents to enhance investor protection and assist with the practical application of auditing standards. He also contributed to the SEC’s rulemaking activities and provided subject-matter expertise to other offices and divisions within the SEC.
Keith has worked with a diverse portfolio of audit clients, with a focus on public company and multi-national audits, primarily in the real estate industry. Keith participated in a four-year global audit rotation to the KPMG Frankfurt office in Germany where he served on a multi-national banking audit, assisting KPMG Germany with their application of US PCAOB auditing standards to foreign private issuer audits.
Keith is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and is a licensed CPA in Virginia.
