Advisory Managing Director, Accounting Advisory Services
Jonathan is a Managing Director in KPMG’s Accounting Advisory Services who focuses on asset management and fund accounting, reporting, monitoring and oversight. He has extensive expertise in US GAAP, IFRS, Financial Reporting, SEC Regulations, and asset manager and fund accounting processes, controls and automation. With over 17 years of experience at KPMG, Jonathan’s work has included audits of public and alternative investment funds, audits of asset managers, providing advisory execution of accounting and reporting for asset managers and funds, and providing services related to enhancing asset manager processes for monitoring and overseeing funds. His clients include asset managers and fund administrators, who focus on the following asset classes: public funds (mutual funds, closed-end funds, UITs), and private funds (private equity, hedge, real estate, and private credit).
In his current role, providing advisory services to the asset management community, Jonathan oversees teams, process and systems that enhance asset managers ability to account and report for funds, and monitor and oversee the production of accounting and reporting. These services are designed to provide the asset management community with access to economies of scale, expertise, and/or staffing flexibility. The services he oversees include: in-sourcing accounting and reporting functions, monitoring and oversight of outsourced accounting and reporting functions, drafting and review of US GAAP and IFRS financial statements, drafting and review of investor statements, shadow accounting, and automation of accounting and reporting processes.
Jonathan is CPA, and holds a Bachelor of Science in both Accounting and Finance. Jonathan is an alum of Eastern Illinois University where he currently serves as an Accounting Advisory Board Member.
