Tom Hickey
Managing Director, Trade & Customs
Tom Hickey serves as Managing Director in the Trade & Customs practice at KPMG US where he focus on export control and sanctions regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctions. He advises multinational clients in technology, telecommunications, aerospace and defense, and oil and gas.
His experience includes risk assessments, compliance program development and enhancement, classification, authorization application and management, contractual terms, internal audits, trade technology solutions, and internal controls related to technology and technical data.
Tom holds an MSc in International Political Economy from the London School of Economics, a Master of Public Policy from the University of California, Berkeley, and a BA in English Language and Literature from the University of Michigan. He is also a Certified U.S. Export Controls Officer (CUSECO).
