Katie Hanson is a Director in KPMG’s Healthcare Advisory practice with over 15 years of experience leading clinical and operational transformations for the nation’s leading health systems. She specializes in redesigning care delivery systems, operating models, and digital strategies to solve complex challenges, improve clinical outcomes, and elevate the patient experience across the care continuum.

Katie has extensive experience partnering with executive teams to drive significant financial and quality improvements. She has led large-scale clinical transformation engagements that achieved multi-million-dollar margin improvements and increased CMS Star ratings by addressing care progression, capacity management, and clinical governance. Her expertise also includes developing enterprise-wide CRM strategies, designing EHR integration roadmaps, and deploying population health management programs for large, complex patient populations, including state-led Medicaid initiatives.

Grounded in a data-driven approach, Katie is adept at leveraging advanced analytics, lean methodologies, and technology platforms—including enterprise EMRs, CRM systems, and business intelligence tools —to deliver sustainable change. She holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with a focus on Health Systems and Change Management, and is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt.
