Scott Hamm is a Managing Director in KPMG’s Washington National Tax – Estates, Gifts, and Trusts practice. He has nearly 25 years of professional experience assisting clients with their fiduciary income and transfer (estate, gift, generation-skipping transfer) tax planning and compliance issues.
Scott assists closely-held business owners with designing and implementing wealth transfer strategies to effectively achieve their tax and personal objectives. He is particularly adept at modeling the tax consequences of complex planning scenarios thus allowing clients to evaluate the potential outcomes of their decisions. He also has significant experience with post-mortem administration of large, complex estates. Prior to joining KPMG, Mr. Hamm worked at the Washington National Tax office of Deloitte Tax LLP as National Manager of the Estate, Gift, Trust and Charitable competency group serving ultra high net and high net worth clients. Prior to that, he worked in the San Jose practice office of Deloitte serving a variety of clients, including many in the technology industry. He also serves as a Vice-Chair of the Individual and Fiduciary Income Tax Subcommittee of the American Bar Association’s section of Real Property Trust and Estate Law.
