David Greed
Partner, Audit
David Greed is the Partner In Charge - Audit of the Bay Area Business Unit of KPMG LLP. He has been in public accounting for 31 years. In this role, Dave leads a team of over 750 audit partners and professionals in San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Walnut Creek, Sacramento, and Honolulu, with oversight for business and financial operations and resource management, including hiring and retention. Dave also serves as lead audit engagement partner on several companies in the technology and services industry. From 2012 to 2018, Dave was the Partner In Charge - Audit of the Pennsylvania Business Unit of KPMG LLP, where he led a team of over 500 audit partners and professionals in Philadelphia, Harrisburg and Pittsburgh.
Professional and Industry Experience
Dave has provided professional audit services to several large multinational groups in accordance with PCAOB requirements, U.S. GAAP and IFRS.
Dave has extensive experience serving technology companies; client experience ranges from start-up companies to multi-billion dollar organizations. Specifically, he spends a significant portion of his time dealing with the complexities of revenue recognition. He had been the engagement partner on SAP, Unisys Corporation and many other software and technology companies, which involve both U.S. GAAP and IFRS.
He has significant SEC reporting experience as he has been involved with over 20 initial and secondary public offerings, as well as debt financings and private equity transactions.
Dave has spent much of his career working with entrepreneurs in various emerging growth and venture-backed companies in multiple industries including professional services, technology and software as a service.
During his career, Dave has worked on a significant number of merger and acquisition and corporate partner transactions.
Dave was a member of a PCAOB working group in developing practical implementation guidance for audits of internal control over financial reporting for smaller public companies.
