With 20 years in Accounting / Finance / Operation roles, Greg provide extensive experience in accounting and finance consulting and operational controller leadership services. He has served in the role of Business Operations Controller and as a subject matter professional with experience in implementing revenue and lease processes under ASC606 and ASC842, respectively.  His leadership in these roles were served within the Technology, Media, and Telecommunications industry.

Engagement Experience

  • As a global technology, media & telecommunications was moving to a strategy to bundle products/services as part of its sales portfolio, Greg embarked on the successful implementation of the first multiple offering on the roadmap.  In coordination with the business partners, the types of services included in the initial offer considered his assessment over the existing landscape of systems needed for the current and future scale of transactions.  Upon completion of identifying the offers in the bundle, he continued to oversee the accounting requirement documentation, reviewed the technical specifications against the requirements, prepared the current state and future state process flows, led test plan creation and execution, and the cut-over activities.  This bundled service offering has been in place for ~3 years and has grown to account for ~30% of the product areas revenue.  The cross-functional team key to the success of the implementation included business, engineers, and accounting/finance stakeholders.
  • As a multinational Consumer and Retail company was implementing a lease administration/accounting software, Greg led a team in standing up the project management over the Accounting workstream, documenting the accounting requirements, mapping the requirements to the functional design and test cases, reviewed and monitored the test plan and test case execution, and oversaw the development and execution of the training materials to a decentralized lease accounting team.  This lease software is now used to manage over $9 billion in lease obligations.
  • As a multi-national conglomerate was implementing a SaaS solution for account reconciliations, Greg led a project team to identify the upstream processes to include in-scope for review against KPMG’s best practices in the record to report process.  This included a high-level review of the overall Accounting Operating Model, identifying the processes to include in-scope within the operating model, preparing and collecting pre-workshop materials e.g. existing process flow, executing on cross-functional workshops, and providing prioritized recommendations over process improvements.  15 key recommendations were agreed upon with stakeholder inputs for improving the effectiveness and efficiency over organizational and system/process changes.
