Andrew Gottschalk

Andrew (Andy) Gottschalk is a partner in KPMG LLP's Advisory practice and is a leader in the Advisory New Partner and Managing Director Coaching Program. In this role, he is responsible for helping newly appointed partners and managing directors accelerate their leadership development, strengthen client and market impact, and navigate the opportunities and responsibilities that come with senior leadership at KPMG. He works closely with Advisory leaders across the firm to support talent development, succession planning, and the continued growth of the Advisory practice.

Andy brings more than 40 years of consulting, technology, and leadership experience serving public sector organizations. Throughout his career, he has advised Healthcare, Federal, state and local governments, higher education institutions, and other public sector entities on complex transformation, technology modernization, governance, and operational improvement initiatives. He has led numerous large-scale engagements spanning internal audit, quality assurance, technology implementation, vendor selection, and business transformation.

Prior to his current role, Andy served as the Infrastructure, Government & Healthcare Advisory Practice Leader, KPMG U.S., and the KPMG U.S. Sector Leader for State and Local Government and Higher Education (SLED) and Consulting Sector Leader for SLED. In these leadership roles, he oversaw market development, client service delivery, and growth initiatives supporting many organizations across the United States.

Andy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce from Washington and Lee University, graduating magna cum laude. He is a Certified Public Accountant in Illinois and New York and has been actively involved in several professional organizations, including the Government Finance Officers Association, the Association of Government Accountants, and the Project Management Institute. He is also a Certified Government Financial Manager.

In addition to his professional responsibilities, Andy served on the Board and Executive Committee of the Civic Federation of Illinois and was the Co-Chair of the Partners Council of the Civic Consulting Alliance of Illinois and Chicago.
