Kayla Futch

Kayla Futch is currently on rotation with KPMG LLP’s Department of Professional Practice in the Inspections, Audit, and Accounting Standards Groups. During this rotation she has prepared internal audit guidance, responded to audit inquiries from engagement teams, prepared internal and external facing accounting guidance, and coordinated and performed internal quality reviews.
Prior to her rotation, Kayla served as a senior manager in KPMG’s Federal Audit practice. Her nearly 13 years of experience have been primarily focused on performing integrated and financial statement audits of federal agencies, as required under the Chief Financial Officers Act (CFO Act) and the Government Management Reform Act (GMRA).
Ms. Futch has substantial experience serving cabinet-level federal audit engagements, as well as commercial entities. She has served on large, complex federal audits including serving as the lead overall manager on the consolidated integrated audit of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Her responsibilities included assessing audit risk; reviewing audit plans and financial statements; conducting discussions with the client about the results of the work performed; supervising seniors, staff, and specialist team members; managing the assignment within the budget and time commitments; monitoring the progress of the engagement; and helping to resolve accounting, auditing, and reporting problems as they arise.
In addition to Federal audits, Ms. Futch has managed audit readiness efforts for the Defense Logistics Agency and the Department of the Navy on Federal advisory engagements. She also has experience in audits of various public companies and other commercial entities.
