Senior Manager, Washington National Tax
Alexander (“Alex”) is a senior manager in the KPMG Washington National Tax (“WNT”) Passthroughs, Incentives, Credits, and Methods (“PICAM”) practice with over 10 years of experience in assisting clients with various business tax credits and incentives including federal and state research tax credits, Section 174 research and experimentation expenditure deductions, and Section 199 domestic production deductions; as well as supporting taxpayers in various stages of tax controversy with numerous taxing authorities, including the Internal Revenue Service and California Franchise Tax Board.
Alex has experience providing tax consulting services to a wide variety of clients ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies, in numerous industries, including aerospace and defense, banking / financial services, computer software, insurance, healthcare staffing, electronics / high technology, and manufacturing. For over 10 years, Alex assisted companies with calculating and substantiating research and development tax credits. In his current WNT role, Alex performs technical reviews of quantitative and qualitative deliverables for KPMG’s national practice, provides federal and state controversy support, develops implementation materials for engagement teams, and provides thought-leadership through published articles, external webcasts, and trainings for continuing professional education credits.
Previous to his involvement with incentives and credits, Alex was part of KPMG’s business tax services practice.
