US Japanese Practice Advisory Leader, Principal, Advisory
Charles Cochran rejoined KPMG in 2020 as a principal in the Dallas office where he serves as the Advisory Market Leader. He also serves as the global lead partner for Toyota Motor Corporation and leads the firm’s Global Japanese Advisory practice in the Americas region. For over 30 years, Charles has helped clients with complex transformations, strategic global initiatives, and complex technology implementations across a broad set of industries including automotive, telecommunications, high technology, and industrial manufacturing.
Charles has spent a considerable portion of his career working in global settings, including 11 years in the Asia Pacific region, with postings in Tokyo, Sydney, and Shanghai, as well as two years in Latin America. These experiences have given him a unique perspective on how to address business initiatives across borders and cultures. Earlier in his career, Charles was a principal in the Consulting practice of KPMG in the Dallas office and helped establish Technology Consulting in the local market.
He also served in various leadership positions at BearingPoint, including the head of the South Asia Pacific region and CEO of BearingPoint Australia. Before rejoining KPMG, he served as the chief operating officer of Hitachi Consulting as well as a global relationship partner for PwC Japan. He has been active in the Dallas office and has supported a variety of practice initiatives, serving as an SPML and Office Life leader of Transformation Delivery.
Charles holds a Master of Business Administration from Baylor University and is on the board of the Baylor Bear Foundation. He also serves on the board of the Dallas Circle 10 Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He is a member of the Somos and Asia Pacific Islander BRGs and serves as a mentor in those groups.
