Michael Chmelar
Partner, Dept. of Professional Practice
Mike is an audit partner in the Department of Professional Practice. Mike previously served as a Practice Fellow at the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB). There, he served as a senior team member on various projects including the Statement of Cash Flows, Accounting for Commodities, Induced Conversions of Convertible Debt, and Intangibles. In that role, he also conducted research and outreach to support the Board’s decision-making process and represented the FASB as a subject matter expert at conferences, providing updates on the standard-setting process to stakeholders.
Prior to his fellowship, Mike spent time in both the KPMG Department of Professional Practice and KPMG Los Angeles audit practice working primarily with financial services companies.
Mike graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He is a licensed CPE in California, Connecticut, Florida and New York.
