Swami Chandrasekaran is a seasoned technology leader with over 25 years of experience. As the Principal and Head of the AI & Data Center of Excellence at KPMG, he plays a pivotal role in transforming the firm through innovative AI initiatives. Swami has led the standardized adoption of AI, unlocking new ways of working and driving operational efficiency. He has contributed to the development of groundbreaking AI and digital systems throughout his career, which includes leadership roles at IBM and KPMG.
In his role at KPMG, Swami manages the AI portfolio and ensures a competitive edge through various projects, such as advanced RAGs, large language models, AI Agents, and AI-enabled search. He also leads research on cutting-edge AI technologies and oversees data experimentation frameworks.
As the chair of the KPMG AI Technology Review Board, Swami ensures consistent AI adoption across functions and impacts thousands of professionals. Additionally, as a Principal Investigator at the NIST AI Safety Institute Consortium, he contributes to AI safety and regulatory standards.
Under Swami's leadership, KPMG has delivered innovative solutions such as Knowledge Assistants, AI Teammates, AI Inventory, Trusted AI Toolbox, Design System for AI, and AI System Cards. These tools push innovation boundaries and improve trust and efficiency globally.
Previously, Swami directed the Global Cloud CoE at KPMG and built a client-facing Solution Architecture discipline. His notable achievements include the development of award-winning systems and AI-enabled solutions resulting in significant cost savings. He has worked across various industries and countries, including Telecom, Healthcare, Pharma, Consumer Retail, and Financial Services.
Before joining KPMG, Swami was an IBM Distinguished Engineer and played a pivotal role in developing IBM Watson. He has more than 30 patents and has authored multiple books on AI and SOA. Swami has received numerous accolades for his leadership and contributions to the technology industry.
