Scott Belding is a Partner and leader of the Indirect Tax Technology practice at KPMG LLP. With more than 28 years of experience driving innovation in tax technology, he specializes in transaction tax automation and business process optimization, with a particular focus on global indirect taxes, including VAT and e-invoicing.
Scott leads complex indirect tax transformation initiatives for large multinational organizations, covering e-invoicing implementations, tax engine integrations, native ERP tax solutions, and end-to-end tax transformation programs. He served as the state and local tax practice leader for KPMG MidAmerica business unit for over 5 years.
His experience spans a broad range of industries, including chemical manufacturing, automotive, oil and gas, utilities, healthcare products, apparel retail, global ecommerce, health insurance, technology, and water and energy technologies. Scott has delivered innovative technology solutions for highly complex, global enterprises undergoing multi-year transformation efforts.
Scott holds a Bachelor of Accountancy from Northwood University, is a Certified Public Accountant, and a Six Sigma Green Belt. He is a member of both the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
A seasoned speaker, Scott has presented at leading industry events including the Thomson Reuters Share Forum, the Institute for Professionals in Taxation, the Council On State Taxation, and the Global KPMG Indirect Tax Conference.
