Partner in Charge - Northern California Audit Practice

Alison Barr is the partner in charge of Audit for the Bay Area Business Unit and has more than twenty years of experience serving large multi-national technology companies. As the partner in charge, Alison manages a group of 90 partners and managing directors and more than 500 employees across San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Sacramento and Hawaii. Alison is responsible for implementing the audit practice strategy across the business unit, which includes providing best-in-class service to KPMG’s Bay Area clients.

Alison has broad experience advising global technology companies, with in-depth experience in software, platform and software-as-a-service companies. She has worked with clients on significant transactions such as acquisitions, divestitures, initial public offerings, complex tax structures, and industry technical accounting and auditing issues. She is known as someone who proactively communicates and collaborates to solve problems quickly, helping companies move forward at pace in today’s evolving and complex environment.

In addition to her audit experience, she has strong community ties and has served on boards or as an advisor to various non-profit organizations. Currently, she serves as a board member to Santa Clara University’s Accounting Advisory Board.
