Not so for the Administration and the Agencies! They have been busy at work advancing their priorities. Highlights include:
- Formation of a new NIST-sponsored Quantum Manufacturing Engineering Center to support the June executive order accelerating deployment and commercialization of quantum computing, sensing, and networking.
- Guidance and rule proposals related to trading on “prediction markets” including sports-related “gaming contracts.”
- Proposals addressing requirements for broadband (e.g., consumer labels, satellite connectivity), drones and components, and space and earth station licensing.
- Attention on cybersecurity threats, including guidance related to foreign actors, maintaining critical infrastructure through an incident/disruption, and the launch of the “Gold Eagle” initiative.
