Todays' customers expect their desired products to be made available how they want them, when they want them. This means, every element of the supply chain systems – from sourcing raw materials to production, warehousing and ensuring the final products are delivered to customers safely – will need to be done efficiently.

Barnas Hus, Norway’s leading children and baby products retail company, understood they needed to make some changes to continue satisfying their customers. Especially with the ongoing issues between the warehouse and their stores, their supply chain systems needed rethinking.

Building a strong supply chain foundation for the future

A strong supply chain foundation needs to be able to serve the company well into the future. With that in mind, Barnas Hus decided to work with KPMG and believed KPMG Powered Enterprise | Supply Chain, backed by Microsoft Dynamics 365, would not only solve their current problems but also lay a strong foundation for robust supply chain systems.

A new state-of-the-art warehouse facility is integrated with advanced robotics to accurately pick, sustainably pack and track every product heading into stores, giving Barnas Hus the visibility of inventory it always needed. Now, store managers and customers are able to access products faster and more importantly, the foundations have been laid for artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to be implemented more broadly in the future.

Data and analytics allow the company to understand customers better, bridging the gap between customer expectations and service delivery.

Shortly after Powered Supply Chain, backed by Microsoft Dynamics 365, was implemented, Barnas Hus had its best performing month in terms of revenue. This bold new vision is quickly helping to pay dividends.
