KPMG law graduates who join this team will experience 12 months of rotations across different practice areas and teams. Be part of a team of lawyers specialising in the resolution of tax disputes. We work with clients across matters like:

Consulting – Technology Advisory
Work with clients to align their technology capabilities with their objectives. We focus on performance evaluation, IT strategy development, IT operations advice, efficiencies, and cost reduction.
We’re not tied to hardware or software suppliers, so our advice is objective and tailored to each client’s needs. Using KPMG’s extensive national and global resources, we adopt a multidisciplinary approach to unlocking the full potential of existing and new technology investments.

Consulting – Data Analytics and AI

Consulting – Cyber
Help clients comprehend and manage technology, cyber and information risks, including:

  • enhancing business resilience
  • meeting IT compliance and governance obligations
  • assessing cybersecurity readiness
  • conducting technical security assessments.

We often coordinate with client contacts to understand and document controls for internal files. We also conduct technical engagements like penetration tests or red team engagements to assess an organisation’s cybersecurity readiness.

Enterprise Advisory – Risk & Assurance – Cyber
Focus on helping mid-market clients address cyber risks and build cyber resilience while operating their business. We identify, assess and manage threats, and establish effective risk frameworks, and cyber and technology risk advisory. We assess our clients’ cyber maturity using KPMG frameworks and industry standards and provide incident response planning and managed security services. We also provide cyber risk quantification, compliance and governance, vulnerability assessments and managed solutions.

Enterprise – Human Capital Risk & Compliance
A multidisciplinary team bringing together practical experience and deep expertise across risk assurance, industrial relations, employment law, payroll operations and data analytics to provide an end-to-end service across all human capital risk and compliance services.
We sustain a compliant workforce framework through a focus on technology and analytics. We help our clients utilise data to identify, quantify and analyse their risk areas. Some of the work we do:

  • deliver leading-edge data analytics and remediation activities leveraging specialist knowledge of different payroll and HR systems
  • develop components across the entire data pipeline, from extract/transform/load to data visualisation
  • contribute data-driven insights to help our make important business decisions and minimise risks around employee entitlements.

Deal, Adv, Inf – Engineering and Asset Management
Help clients make decisions and achieve business objectives in asset management and engineering. Our Engineering Services provide several interdisciplinary services to assist organisations in how to specify, design, integrate and manage complex systems over an asset’s lifecycle. This includes:

  • the application of systems thinking to design and deliver assets
  • assessing the condition of assets during their useful life
  • assessing the environment in which those assets are deployed.

This team also sits across our Data & Analytics, AI, ML & Automation and Technology Engineering (systems and platforms) segments.

Deal, Adv, Inf – Planning and Infrastructure Economics
Provide strategic, economic, policy and planning advice for infrastructure, places and precincts, and other major projects. We work with government agencies and departments on business cases, policy advisory, urban and regional plans across the following industry sectors:

  • transport (rail, road, ports and aviation)
  • energy
  • natural resources
  • social infrastructure
  • urban/regional development and placemaking.

Deal, Adv, Inf – Commercial Advisory & Transactions
Provides commercial and financial advice for major projects or transactions, with specialised groups within the team focused on infrastructure, energy, and real estate.
We work across different asset classes including:

  • transport (rail, road, ports and freight)
  • energy
  • social infrastructure (health, housing, education, justice and security)
  • defence
  • complex property and precincts (real estate).

This team also sits in across our AI, ML & Automation and Technology Engineering (systems and platforms) segments
