Stephen is a senior partner and Partner in Charge of KPMG's national Deals Tax Advisory, Tax Disputes & Controversy, and Transfer Pricing businesses. He is a member of the Executive Team for KPMG Australia’s Tax & Legal division, and responsible for the Tax & Legal division’s Clients & Markets strategy and team.

For more than 10 years, Stephen has been an adviser for numerous large M&A transactions in the Australian market. He specialises in Australian corporate tax, with a focus on M&A. He has gained extensive governance experience both as a member of various executive teams at KPMG, and through numerous non-executive director roles in the not-for-profit sector.

An occasional lecturer in M&A tax law at the University of Melbourne Law School, Stephen also acts as a mentor for Masters students in the Law School faculty. He has also been appointed as a Trustee of one of Australia’s leading philanthropic foundations.

In 2018, Stephen was named Chartered Tax Adviser of the Year by the Tax Institute of Australia.

Stephen is a passionate cyclist and fundraiser for Australian charity organisations that support children in need.
