Jon Berry

Associate Director, Geopolitics Hub

KPMG Australia

As an experienced international trade, investment and geopolitical analyst, Jon provides analysis and advice for businesses seeking to understand how geopolitical risks and opportunities impact their operations and ambitions.

Jon has had a varied 20-year career including roles in Australia, China, Japan, France, Italy, Africa, Switzerland and India. He worked for 10 years as a Melbourne-based trade policy consultant, advising most of Australia’s largest export industries, and representing their interests in Canberra and at international cooperation fora.

From 2008 to 2010, Jon worked within the UN system, as a food aid logistics officer for the World Food Programme. This role involved frequent missions to Africa and the Middle East where he saw firsthand both the challenges and opportunities represented by international trade, and the geopolitical forces that shape and influence the decisions of governments. This experience helps Jon understand and anticipate the varied ways that governments respond to major global events and trends.
