Decision of the Financial Action Task Force to remove Barbados from its grey list
The Corporate Affairs and Intellectual Property Office of Barbados on 23 February 2024 issued a press release announcing the decision of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) to remove Barbados from its grey list.
The decision was made at the organization’s first Plenary meeting of the year, reflecting FATF’s satisfaction with the successful implementation of Barbados’s anti-money laundering (AML) action plan.
The FATF’s decision paves the path for Barbados to be removed from both the European Union and the United Kingdom blacklists, indicating adequate AML system and diminished risks to their financial markets.
Barbados is committed to maintaining an effective AML regime aligned with FATF standards.
