An exclusive KPMG survey examines four areas where this remarkable technology shows great promise.
To understand their perspectives on generative AI, KPMG conducted two surveys of US executives across industries: the first in March, 2023 and a follow-up in June, 2023. The survey report sheds light on emerging trends in the use of generative AI in business, including both the opportunities and threats these executives believe generative AI has created.
This report, Using generative AI to strengthen cybersecurity, reveals that cybersecurity applications for this transformative technology are at the top of the list for the majority of survey respondents. More than 70 percent of IT professionals say they have prioritized its use in cybersecurity, and 63 percent say generative AI in cybersecurity will likely have the greatest impact on their organization. But it’s a double-edged sword; the report also shows that respondents are well aware that generative AI is likely to create its own cyber risks. The report expands on both the opportunities and risks by looking at four of the leading opportunities for generative AI-enabled cybersecurity and the steps you can take to help secure a safe start to its use.
