Today, KPMG International has announced the appointment of Anish De as Global Head of Energy Natural Resources & Chemicals (ENRC).
With more than 25 years’ experience, Anish joins the global organization from KPMG in India where he held a number of key roles including National Head of ENRC, and Head of Strategy and Transformation, leading the Indian firm’s successful Infrastructure Advisory practice in areas including energy, mining, transport, aviation and defence.
Increasing geopolitical and economic uncertainty is placing even greater pressure on some of the world’s most important sectors, including energy and natural resources. In his new role, Anish will be a leading figure for KPMG, driving forward a global growth strategy and supporting thousands of specialists in member firms around the world.
The developments that we are seeing now are truly of global scale and impact. Emphasis on ESG and decarbonization has swept all industries. There is heightened sensitivity in boards and shareholders, and unprecedented activism. Convergence between energy, mobility, water, and waste management is redefining the operating landscape. Energy security is firmly back on the table. Physical risks and cybersecurity risks have become acute. High commodity prices have attracted consumer ire and public scrutiny. Energy security, environment protection, prices, and technology can no longer be viewed through different lenses. These factors (and more) are converging. I am really fortunate to inherit a robust sector program. Common issues bring KPMG firms together globally around a sector strategy that focuses on Growth, Community, Solutions, and Brand. Our journey has a defining purpose, and an urgency to deliver for the good of the planet and our own success. We have made considerable progress, but I am equally conscious that we have a lot of ground to cover.

Anish De takes over the role from Regina Mayor, who successfully led KPMG’s Global ENRC team since 2016. Regina moves to a new role within KPMG’s Global Management Team as Global Head of Clients & Markets.
