3 September 2025 – KPMG International today announced the appointments of Rob Fisher as Global Head of Advisory and Steve Chase as Global Head of AI and Digital Innovation.

Rob Fisher, as Global Head of Advisory, will be responsible for leading KPMG’s global Advisory business, guiding more than 100,000 professionals in the global network to drive high-impact solutions for clients, innovation, and quality worldwide. He will also serve on KPMG’s Global Management Team with responsibility to shape and implement the global Advisory strategy, promote growth, and foster alignment across member firms. This will be in addition to his position as Vice Chair, Advisory at KPMG in the US.

Rob brings over 30 years of experience in both US and global roles, including as the US Consulting leader for Financial Services and Head of Global ESG Advisory. Rob is credited with expanding KPMG’s risk and regulatory practice to bring new solutions to clients and has a background in technology-led transformations.

Rob succeeds Carl Carande, who is retiring after a distinguished 25-year career at KPMG. Carl’s leadership transformed KPMG member firms’ consulting business, played a key role in expanding deal advisory services, growing risk consulting, developing KPMG’s alliance ecosystem and establishing new client offerings in new geographies.

It’s a privilege to step into this role at such a transformative time for clients and the Advisory business. AI is reshaping clients’ competitive landscapes and operating environments, evolving how KPMG professionals deliver services and redefining what’s possible. Amidst the disruption of AI and compound volatility in the external environment, it is more critical than ever that we invest in capabilities that help clients navigate with speed, innovation and trust.
      Rob Fisher

Global Head of Advisory-Elect, KPMG International

Advisory, Vice Chair, KPMG in the US

In addition to Rob Fisher's appointment, Steve Chase will take on expanded responsibilities as Global Head of AI and Digital Innovation.

Steve Chase, continuing as Vice Chair, AI and Digital Innovation at KPMG in the US, will lead the global organization’s efforts to scale AI-enabled client solutions and accelerate internal transformation, helping ensure KPMG remains a leader in responsible, impactful innovation.

Steve brings over 20 years of consulting and executive leadership experience, focused on large-scale technology and business transformation. For the last two years, as KPMG US’s Vice Chair of AI and Digital Innovation, he has scaled AI adoption to drive growth, led enterprise-wide integration of AI, and strengthened strategic alliances with global tech leaders including Google and Microsoft—cementing KPMG’s position as a trusted AI leader.

Steve succeeds David Rowlands, who is retiring after serving as KPMG International’s first-ever Global Head of AI. David was pivotal in transforming KPMG International’s approach to AI, enabling the global network of member firms to integrate AI across service delivery.

It’s an honor to step into this role at a moment when AI is fundamentally reshaping how work gets done. We’re building on a strong foundation—and as agents usher in the next wave of disruption, we have a real opportunity to lead with clarity, consistency, and speed. This isn’t just about deploying new tech. It’s about aligning our global approach to scale trust, accelerate innovation, and empower both our people and our clients to shape what comes next.
      Steve Chase

Global Head of AI and Digital Innovation, KPMG International

Vice Chair – Artificial Intelligence & Digital Innovation, KPMG in the US

Together, these two leadership transitions mark an important moment in KPMG’s global Collective Strategy to embed AI at the core of client service delivery. Over the past year, KPMG has accelerated its AI journey with the launch of KPMG Workbench, a foundational multi-agent platform that enables agentic capabilities across client delivery systems—including KPMG Digital Gateway (Tax), KPMG Clara (Audit), and KPMG Velocity (Advisory). These platforms are reshaping how KPMG professionals work, enabling faster, smarter, and more scalable solutions.

Rob and Steve are stepping into their global roles at a time of extraordinary transformation for KPMG and for clients. Their leadership in Advisory and AI, backed by our significant investments in these areas, will be instrumental as we accelerate our global Collective Strategy — helping make the difference for KPMG clients, people and society.
