Botswana: Extended filing deadlines for annual withholding and individual income tax returns

Individuals are required to file unless they earned less than P480,000 from a single employer.

The Botswana Unified Revenue Service (BURS) on September 24, 2024, released a public notice announcing that the following due dates have been extended:

  • The deadline to file annual withholding tax returns (pay as you earn (PAYE) and other withholding taxes (OWHT)) has been extended to November 30, 2024.
  • The deadline to file individual income tax returns has been extended to December 31, 2024.

Individuals are required to file tax returns unless they earned less than P480,000 per year from a single employer (unless they were not taxed correctly by the employer).
