Suspension of automatic exchange of financial account information with Hong Kong and Singapore, effective from 1 January 2025
The federal tax administration of Switzerland on 14 February 2024 issued notifications announcing the suspension of the automatic exchange of financial account information with Hong Kong and Singapore, effective from 1 January 2025.
The decision was taken by the Federal Council on 4 December 2023 denouncing the competent authority agreements with the aforementioned jurisdictions. However, Switzerland’s automatic exchange of information with those jurisdictions will continue based on the OECD Model Competent Authority Agreement.
