Michael brings more than 20 years of global experience and leads Business Development for the West region within the KPMG Deal Advisory & Strategy practice. He has extensive experience leading and coordinating advisory engagements across several industries with a focus on business development and client relationship management.

Representative Transactions

Michael is a results-driven strategist who provides strategic guidance to clients with a demonstrated ability to optimize performance and achieve desired results. He has a high level of competency facilitating business transactions based on the analysis of short and long-term business needs. 

  • Lead Business Development for a preeminent leadership advisory firm focusing on helping individual leaders, teams and organizations accelerate performance. 
  • Executive of a global mergers and acquisitions services company providing a full range of capital advisory services globally with transactions up to $10B.
  • Facilitated a $300M acquisition of a Canadian asset for a large Chinese State Owned Entity (SOE).
  • Negotiated deal between a US based chain with global operations and Chinese Private Equity firm for China expansion.
  • Diagnosed inefficiencies for a CPG company within their multi-product line budget forecasting process with recommendations for solutions to improve fund allocation and enhance productivity.
  • Identified, composed and presented macro-trends affecting the energy industry and provided guidance on specific levers that would fuel future innovation.

Professional and Industry Experience

Previously Michael was the Business Development function lead at Heidrick & Struggles overseeing the Industrial, Financial and Global Technology services practices for North America. Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles, Michael was an international sales and business development executive for an oil and gas advisory firm and split his time between Alberta, Canada and Beijing, China. Earlier in his career he worked for Nestlé S.A., a Swiss multinational food and drink processing conglomerate corporation as well as Royal DSM, a Dutch multinational active in the fields of health, nutrition and materials. He has worked and lived in most major U.S. financial hubs, including New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.
