Doug Williams

Doug is the leader of KPMG’s Capital Solution practice and the lead partner for Freddie Mac, a KPMG Premier account.  Doug has extensive experience with the issuance of mortgage and assets backed securities including performing agreed upon procedures to facilitate issuance. He also has an extensive background in the design, development, testing and implementation of systems utilized to administer and account for securitization transactions, loans, and debt instruments. His experience includes the development of systems and processes for the bond administration and taxation of asset-backed securities for both issuers and investors and he has developed systems for the numerous forms of effective yield accounting including ASC 310, and IRC 1272(a)6. His focuses include:

• All phases of securitization transaction services, including the initial structuring, pricing, payment administration, taxation and regulatory reporting of mortgage and asset backed securities including REMICs and CLOs
• Business process redesign, operational risk and control assessments, risk governance, monitoring, reporting and remediation
• Extensive background in the design, development, testing and implementation of systems utilized to track and account for loans, debt instruments and securitization transactions
• The development of web-based systems and processes to account for numerous forms of effective yield accounting including, IFRS-9, CECL, IRC 1272(a)6 and the taxation and bond administration of asset-backed securities for both issuers and investors

Doug joined the KPMG Audit Practice in 1989 and then transferred to the Structured Finance Group in 1991. He was admitted to the Partnership in 1998. His clients include the government sponsored enterprises (GSEs), global investment banking, securities and investment management firms, national banks, and other financial services companies.
