Jay Teinert

Jay is the Energy, Natural Resources and Chemicals industry lead partner for the Deal Advisory and Strategy practice. In this role, Jay leads a team of M&A and strategy professionals who specialize in navigating complex transactions, identifying sources of value, and delivering transformational results. His team’s primary focus includes buy-side integration, sell-side separation, operational optimization and transformation. He also personally leads the firm's largest Energy, Natural Resources, and Chemicals sector transactions and transformation projects.

Jay has over 25 years of experience as an external M&A advisor and as a manager within the corporate finance function focusing on large-scale mergers and divestments, process improvement, and change management initiatives. Jay has worked within and/or provided advisory assistance in energy, diversified industrials, and consumer product industries.

Prior to joining KPMG, Jay held several senior level, commercial roles at a global energy company where he managed an annual $5B land acquisition, seismic and drilling budget. Jay also led key commercial projects as a senior advisor in internal mergers and acquisitions and strategy consulting teams and held senior integration and separation advisory roles in other national consulting firms.
