Ruth Tang
Sustainability Reporting & Assurance Leader
Ruth is the KPMG national Sustainability Reporting and Assurance Leader, she manages the national operations and resources on providing reporting and assurance services related to climate, nature, social, and governance topics.
In addition to her national operational responsibilities, she also leads the sustainability consulting and assurance services to companies seeking to meet compliance with emerging sustainability regulations including the Corporate Social Responsibility Directive (CSRD), the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), federal and state level regulations in the United States, and nature related disclosures.
Based out of the KPMG New York office with over 20 years of experience serving large public and private global companies in the construction, infrastructure development, financial services, media, and asset management industries.
Ruth's tenure with KPMG included a three-year rotation to the KPMG national office where she consulted engagement teams on complex accounting, financial reporting and SEC matters, developed interpretative guidance for publication in KPMG professional accounting literature and designed and presented technical training to internal and external audiences.
Ruth is a frequent speaker at conferences, a guest lecturer at New York University, and has co-authored a number of publications for KPMG on accounting and sustainability reporting. She also serves as a lead partner of the KPMG Culture Council in the New York office leading the way for over 4800 employees in living KPMG values and culture.
Ruth is an alumni of New York University Stern School of Business with a dual major in accounting and information systems.
