Office Managing Partner, Advisory
Jennifer Shimek is the Managing Partner of the Short Hills office, the Advisory Markets Leader (AML) for the Short Hills MAP and serves clients in the KPMG Forensics practice, specializing in regulatory enforcement and compliance in the HCLS sectors. She serves global pharmaceutical companies and leads work around the world, including ASPAC, LATAM, the Middle East, and Europe. With over 25 years of sector experience, she provides clients with a unique blend of core industry, business, and compliance skills. Her experience includes projects related to FCPA process assessments, distributor and other third-party intermediary audits, pre- and post-acquisition due diligence assessments, expert witness, and compliance services. She also supports and delivers the medical coding/compliance expertise to the healthcare sector deals advisory teams during due diligence engagements. Her clients include pharmaceutical, biotech and medical device companies as well as providers, payors and hospitals.
Prior to KPMG, Jennifer worked in a competitor’s Forensic practice focusing on investigative and compliance matters; was the Chief Operating Officer for a large orthopedic specialty physician group, which included ortho sub-specialties, pain management, physical therapy clinics, and an ambulatory surgery center; and a Compliance/Clinical Services Director for a large hospital system.
She served as a board member for the NJHFMA for three years, was a board member for the State Theater of NJ for 2.5 years and is a board member for the NJ Chamber of Commerce. Jennifer holds a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) designation from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC). She has an undergraduate degree from Florida State University and an MBA from the University of South Florida.
