Northern Pacific Partner in Charge, Tax
Jennifer Petersen is the partner in charge of Tax for the Northern Pacific Business Unit. Jennifer joined the KPMG Minneapolis office 27 years ago and became a Tax partner in 2007. She moved to San Francisco to lead the Bay Area State and Local Tax practice in 2010 and later moved into a national role with the State and Local Tax practice.
In these and other positions, she has grown our business through her ability to forge strong relationships, build diverse and high-performing teams, and lead successful engagements for clients across various industries, including asset management, technology, and financial services. Jennifer embodies KPMG core values in all she does. Through intentional mentoring, coaching, and sponsorship of under-represented talent, she has helped create an inclusive environment where people with diverse backgrounds and perspectives can thrive. Jennifer is active in various community DE&I initiatives.
For instance, as a long-time cohort leader for the KPMG Women’s Leadership Summit, she has helped support the development and advancement of women into leadership positions while promoting the KPMG brand and business development efforts. A champion of KPMG involvement in community service, Jennifer has co-led the Silicon Valley office’s participation in the American Cancer Society’s annual Relay for Life. Through these efforts, the office just hit the milestone of more than $1 million raised for the American Cancer Society.
Jennifer serves on the board for the San Francisco Botanical Society and the Northern California American Cancer Society and is a committee member for the San Francisco Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
