Director, Information Reporting & Withholding Tax
Jigna Patel is a director with the KPMG LLP's (KPMG) Business Tax Services practice in the firm's New York office and specializes in consulting with the Information Reporting & Withholding team. Jigna has worked with clients and colleagues across the globe, including those located in the United States, Cayman Islands, Netherlands, Hong Kong, the British Virgin Islands, Channel Islands, Australia, Singapore, India, United Kingdom, and other Asian and European markets.
She has focused on international tax planning for efficient organization and asset structuring through the entire deal cycle, withholding, treaty analysis, and other areas relating to cross-border tax advice. This includes ASC740/IAS12/IFRIC23 withholding and cap gain analysis, FATCA/CRS, and BEPS Action 13 (CbCR) and Action 5 (Economic Substance) for Cayman, BVI, and the Bahamas. Jigna was part of the select working group for drafting the Economic Substance Legislation and Guidance Notes v3.0 for the Cayman Islands government.
Prior to working with KPMG, Jigna worked as a co-lead of the tax advisory practice for KPMG International firm in the Cayman Islands. Earlier in her career, she worked at another Big Four firm in the international tax consulting and asset management groups.
