Umit Ozdemir

Umit is a Director with KPMG’s GRC Technology Advisory practice in Denver, CO with more than 10 years of SAP advisory and audit experience. He has a strong background across the full life cycle of system development, business process improvement, controls integration, IT audit, and considerable project management experience. He also specializes in SAP Security and SAP controls design and testing both from an internal and external audit perspective. Umit has served as a training instructor for KPMG, instructing courses on SAP Foundations and SAP Security.

Umit has substantial experience leading and coordinating IT Audit and Advisory engagements. He has served as an engagement lead for clients across the technology, energy, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, and consumer product industries, with responsibility for planning and execution of internal and external audit related activities including planning & scoping, business process optimization, controls integration, segregation of duties, critical access, and testing and risk/impact assessments relating to ERPs (SAP, Hyperion, NetSuite, and Microsoft Great Plains).

He also has consulting experience in SAP application configuration, as well as designing and developing business process procedures for SAP FI. He has provided guidance on testing with respect to security, change management, segregation of duties, and automated IT controls testing within key SAP modules.
