Michael is a Managing Director in the KPMG Accounting Method & Credit Services Tax practice with 12 years of experience in various areas of Federal Tax, specializing in accounting methods and tax credits & incentives. Michael has consulted with clients on various tax issues, including research credit services, UNICAP, tax provision services, IRS examinations, Section 199, and various credits/incentives and grants. He has been involved in various aspects of the research tax credit including assisting with technical issues, identification of risk areas, multiyear research credit reviews, defense of the credit during examination, and automation of various clients’ research credit information-gathering processes. Michael has experience across a wide range of industries including Life Sciences, Automotive, Pharmaceutical, Consumer Goods, Financial Services and Retail.
Michael’s experience in the area of accounting methods & credit services includes assisting clients with technical issues, identification of risk areas, multiyear reviews, filing of 3115s, defense of the credit/deduction during examination, and automation of various clients’ information-gathering processes.
Michael has also assisted companies (ranging from mid-market to fortune 100) with the preparation and review of their tax provision calculation and related supporting documentation on a quarterly and year-end basis. In addition, Michael has worked on various accounting methods reviews within the financial services sector as well as assisted with the IRS defense of such claims.
