Andrew “Andy” Maryott is a Director in KPMG’s New York Tax Transformation and Technology (TTT) practice. Andy has over 20 years of both corporate and in-house tax experience with a concentration in Tax Technology, Tax Department Process Improvement, ASC 740 Accounting for Income Taxes, Capital Adequacy, Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review, Dodd-Frank Act Stress Test, FIN48 Uncertain Tax Positions, Data Analytics and issues related to the financial reporting of taxes. The TTT practice assists companies to improve their tax function utilizing process methodologies and technology. In addition, Andy assists tax departments comply with tax reform and SOX internal control requirements, particularly in connection with their ASC 740 processes.
Professional and industry experience
In addition to his work at KPMG, Andy has enjoyed a successful career at Synchrony Financial (fka GE Capital Retail Bank) and GE Capital of Americas (GECA), where he led implementations of tax optimization projects and software solutions. In addition, Andy led the Regulatory and Bank Tax area which encompasses ASC 740, FP&A forecasting, General Ledger Implementations and Integrations, Bank Tax Capital Adequacy Ratio calculations under Basel III, CCAR/DFAST regulatory filings. Prior to working at Synchrony Financial and GECA, Andy also worked at Thomson Reuters, where he led the development and implementation of the ONESOURCE Tax Provision software and other Thomson suite of products. The core of his professional credentials include helping multinational clients effectively pull the levers of people, process, and data to enable technology. He was the Thomson Reuters 2019 Certified Implementer of the Year.
