Ryan is a Principal with KPMG US in the Economic and Valuation Services (EVS) Group within the Tax practice while also serving as the National Leader for Valuation & Business Modeling Services. She also serves as the Major Market Leader (MML) of the EVS Mid-Atlantic Coastal (MAC) region’s practice. Ryan’s field of expertise is focused on the valuation of assets and businesses for a variety of purposes. As a part of the valuation team, she specializes in business and intangible asset valuation services. Ryan’s experience in the field spans more than 19 years.
Ryan specializes in business and intangible asset valuation services for tax, financial reporting, and merger and acquisition purposes and has performed valuations of hundreds of businesses in a range of industries. She provides purchase price allocations, tax valuations, goodwill impairment tests, financial modeling, EPS accretion-dilution analyses, and synergy assessments. She has conducted engagements involving valuation of the following intangible assets: non-compete agreements, customer lists, customer base, service contracts, supply agreements, technological knowledge, trademarks, brand names, franchise rights, assembled workforce, proprietary software, leaseholds, license agreements, and patent portfolios. She has experience with the valuation of contingent consideration, deferred revenue, and inventory. In addition, she supports KPMG’s audit practice in a SAS 73 role, having reviewed hundreds of valuations performed on behalf of KPMG audit clients.
Ryan received her B.S. in Finance and International Business graduating with honors from the University of South Carolina. Ryan is a CFA charterholder and holds the ABV and CEIV designations. Prior to joining KPMG in 2004, Ryan worked for S&P’s valuation practice (now Duff & Phelps).
