Nancy Mah

Nancy is a Senior Manager with KPMG’s the Financial Institutions and Products group in Washington National Tax. She is a CPA specializing in taxation of regulated investment companies with extensive experience in accounting for tax treatment of investments in complex securities including hybrid preferred securities, trust preferred securities, and contingent payment debt instruments (CPDIs). Nancy assists regulated investment companies in dealing with tax issues relating to distribution, diversification, and qualifying income requirements. Nancy also advises on tax issues relating to derivatives, straddles, passive foreign investment companies and shareholder reporting. Prior to joining KPMG in 2019, Nancy was a Director in Tax at Columbia Threadneedle Investments leading the determination of tax treatment of complex securities, derivatives, and corporate actions. She also has extensive prior experience working in the financial services industry and public accounting with firms including MFS Investment Management, Putnam Investments and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.
