Dean Kamahele

Dean Kamahele serves as the KPMG national tax leader for the technology sector and specializes in providing tax advisory services to technology companies. Located in the firm's Silicon Valley office, Dean advises a wide range of high-tech and clean-tech companies—ranging from pre-IPO start-ups to large, publicly held multinationals.
Dean has been with KPMG for more than 27 years, including 15 years as a principal. He has assumed the lead tax adviser role in a number of corporate restructuring and state and local tax planning transactions and has provided day-to-day consultation services on a wide variety of domestic and international tax issues. In addition, he is highly experienced with the provisions of ASC 740 as well as the unique tax and accounting issues associated with project finance structures for renewables. He is a frequent speaker on ASC 740 issues for the Tax Executives Institute.
Dean has a JD degree from the University of California at Berkley and a BA degree with an accounting emphasis, summa cum laude, from Pacific Union College.
