Tom Joss
Partner, International Tax
Tom Joss has more than 20 years of experience in international tax and leads the International Tax practice for KPMG's Washington, DC office group. Tom focuses on assisting clients in assessing, designing, and implementing international tax planning and restructurings and with legal entity and intercompany loan rationalization initiatives. Tom also leader the developments and deployment of KPMG's international tax reform analyzer (ITRA), the firm's U.S. international tax reform modeling tool.
Tom's projects have involved structuring and restructuring international operations; reducing taxation in foreign jurisdictions; increasing utilization of foreign tax credits; improving cash flow; developing and implementing dividends and earnings repatriation planning; and advising on transfer pricing matters. Tom is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the American Bar Association, and the DC Bar Association. He is a licensed certified public accountant in Virginia and Tennessee. Tom earned a BA degree in economics, summa cum laude, from the University of Cincinnati and a JD degree from William & Mary Law School.
