Hoang Thuy Duong has been with KPMG for more than 20 years, including 1.5 years with KPMG in Australia. Currently, Duong leads the Integrated International Tax practice for KPMG in Vietnam advising on international tax, transfer pricing, and trade and customs matters and he also represents the KPMG office in Danang, Central Vietnam.
His past experiences include KPMG chief representative in Danang, EuroCham delegate for community building in Central Vietnam, and former member of Advisory Committee to CPA Australia in North Vietnam. He has significant experience advising multinational companies on tax, transfer pricing, trade and customs planning, compliance and dispute resolution, supply chain, tax planning, tax business restructuring, and due diligence in various sectors, including industrial manufacturing, automotive, fast-moving consumer goods, financial services, and energy and infrastructure.
Duong provided advice on transfer pricing capacity building to the Vietnamese General Department of Taxation, in a project funded by the European Commission, and professional consultation on the Government’s policy on transfer pricing management adopting the OECD guidelines.
Duong is a regular external speaker on Vietnamese fiscal, taxation, and transfer pricing matters, and an advisor to the Ministry of Finance and industry on excise tax policy for automotive, alcohol, and tobacco sectors.
