Marko Gruendig

With more than 20 years of experience, in both Germany and the U.S., Marko is a senior partner with extensive experience advising U.S. and German multinational corporations on international tax aspects as well as managing and transforming their tax functions into the digital age.
Marko specializes in international taxation, mergers and cross-border acquisitions and has 20 years of experience serving many multinational clients for KPMG. After positions with KPMG in New York and KPMG‘s international tax groups in Frankfurt and Munich, Marko became the Head of Tax for KPMG in Germany in 2015. In this role, Marko was responsible for the overall growth targets of the German firm and oversaw the development and execution of the KPMG global tax strategy in Germany. He served as lead partner for KPMG Germany’s largest clients and advised many multinational clients in managing and transforming their tax functions. In October 2022, Marko has returned to the KPMG U.S. tax practice to develop large multinational accounts and assume lead partner roles.
Marko is focused on multinationals in the Life Science and Industrial Manufacturing (automotive and transportation) sectors. He regularly speaks at KPMG client seminars in Germany and the U.S. and has published a number of articles in different tax journals. Marko is also a member of the German American Chamber of Commerce.
