Managing Director, State and Local Tax
Rachel is a Managing Director in KPMG’s State and Local Tax practice in Philadelphia. She has more than twenty years of state tax experience, focused primarily in state and local income and franchise tax consulting. Rachel’s experience includes assisting companies with state tax advice related to mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, technical tax memoranda, and tax return compliance and review. Rachel currently serves as the State and Local Tax income/franchise industry leader for the Life Sciences Industry. Rachel spent two years on an international rotation with the US Tax Practice in London. During her time in London, Rachel’s role was focused on advising foreign companies on the complexities of US state and local taxes. Rachel has significant experience advising clients on mergers and acquisitions, providing both buy side and sell side tax due diligence and tax structuring advice to pharmaceutical and life science companies across all areas of state tax. She also has extensive experience in state tax planning projects, including advice related to state tax modeling and restructuring. Rachel’s client experience includes many leaders in the life sciences industry, from emerging bio to large pharmaceutical companies.
