Stephen Giordano
Principal, Washington National Tax
Stephen Giordano is a Principal in the Washington National Tax Group. Stephen focuses his practice on the taxation of real estate transactions. In particular, he specializes in M&A, capital markets, structured investment, and complex “roll-up” and other transactions involving public and private real estate investment trusts (REITs), and private equity and real estate funds.
Before joining KPMG, Stephen was a partner in the Washington, D.C., office of Hogan Lovells US LLP, a major international law firm. In his career as an attorney, Stephen represented numerous targets and acquirers in public M&A transactions, fund sponsors, and also represented the underwriters in connection with, to date, two of the three largest initial public offerings of domestic US REITs. Prior to joining Hogan Lovells US LLP, Stephen was an associate in the New York office of Sullivan & Cromwell LLP. While in law school, Stephen was a member of The George Washington Law Review.
